Harness. the future. I’ve been hunting for the perfect harness to purchase online. First spotted it on Sienna Miller back in 2006 ( This chick sure knows fashion!) and recently spotted, a white harness on Rihanna at the Much Music Video Awards. I’ve been doing some read ups and research on the different designs and ways of wearing one. I like how it accessorizes a simply dress, giving it an edge. Also, creating a armour look, or a bondage look which can be both naughty yet strong looking. Great for those days where I want to create a Dominatrix Woman look! On left, is the harness I saw, by Comme De Garcon in Hong Kong. Very overpriced, but excellent excellent cut! Below are some different designs and different ways of wearing the Harnesses which I found in my research: Harnesses above, all found at Norwegian Wood. I heart Norwegian Wood. # Ron’s Favs and Recommendations
Birds.fly.high. I have a fetish for all things skulls and lightning, and most of all birds. Birds are like hope with feathers to me. They signify faith, and freedom at the same time. There’s always something whimsical and poetic about them. Miumiu did it best with their graphic take on birds in their S/S10 Collection. #Likes!
Alexander McQueen Geometric Leather Pumps, found via Net-a-Porter. Absolutely love Alexander McQueen for one, and his bold designs. The colour definitely caught my eye. Goes well with a simple black suit to work, with a touch of quirkiness, amidst the serious society.
Designer to watch : EYOLA Aloye is one of the ‘Vogue Talents’. She studied at Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) and then got her masters degree on Fashion Communication and Styling. She has worked with one of the top names from the industry: Alexander McQueen and then established her brand Eyola in 2008 basen on London. She is inspired by the Victorian Era and the noble women from that times and adding a contemporary point of view. Hour glass shape is one of her inspirations. She is combining this romantic era with bold colors, making the collection eye catching. I look forward to her new collection, as I believe she might show a new insight to the fashion world. www.eyola.com She harnesses her own unique style and is capable of embodying intricate detailing and tailoring. Look Ma No Pants! From Wikipedia : A leotard is a unisex skin-tight one-piece garment that covers the torso but leaves the legs free. It was made famous by the French acrobatic performer Jules Léotard (1842–1870), about whom the song “The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze” was written. Leotards are worn by acrobats, gymnasts, dancers, athletes, thespians, and circus performers both as practice garments and performance costumes. They are often worn together with tights and sometime bike shorts. There are sleeveless, short-sleeved and long-sleeved leotards. A variation is the unitard, which also covers the legs. As a casual garment, a leotard can be worn with a belt. Leotards are entered through the neck, in contrast to bodysuits which generally have snaps at the crotch, allowing the garment to be pulled on over the head. Scoop-necked leotards have wide neck openings and are held in place by the elasticity of the garment. Others are crew necked or polo necked and close at the back of the neck with a zipper or snaps. Leotards are used equally by both men and women for a variety of purposes, including yoga, cardiovascular exercise, dance, ballet, as pajamas, additional layered warmth under clothing, and for recreational and casual wear. They also form a part of children’s dressing up and play outfits and can also be worn as a top. Leotards are commonly worn in figure skating, modern dance, traditional ballet and gymnastics, especially by young children. Practice leotards are usually sleeveless; female competition garments for gymnastics and skating are almost always long-sleeved while male competition leotards may be sleeved or sleeveless, the latter more common in gymnastics. Many leotards are cut high enough above the legs that they expose underwear. For this reason, underwear is often omitted, or special underwear, cut high on the waist, is worn. Many dance studios forbid underwear. Gymnastics judges can deduct points for visible underwear. Despite the fact that many leotards are marketed as being for women, they are actually designed as unisex. This marketing failure has only been addressed as of early 2009. Additionally, many companies are now specifically targeting men in light of the increased popularity of the leotard. Leotards as Fashion Madonna wearing it in her world tour. Kylie’s version in her recent world tour. We used to wear them for Gym in class. And in the eighties, celebrities like Madonna and Kylie wore it in their MTVs and concerts for a wow factor. Today, we find leotards on the shelfs of, TOPSHOP and Dolce Gabanna boutiques. Now we wear them to work, for meetings, to dinners and shopping on the streets. It is now the norm. No prizes for guessing which celebrity made it a fashion style. Lady Gaga even wore it to a baseball game recently. Beyonce perfects it in her Single Ladies album. Rihanna Lindsay Lohan Lily Allen Who wears it better than the original leotard style icon herself? Buy them leotards from American Apparel to create looks like these : Photos courtesy of Lookbook . Boy Jules Leotard will be glad to know his invention has stretched this far.

What’s Style To Me? We’ve all been reblogging about fashion and styles we like. However, what’s style? “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” - Coco Chanel “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” - Coco Chanel Beauty is also submitted to the taste of time, so a beautiful woman from the Belle Epoch is not exactly the perfect beauty of today, so beauty is something that changes with time. - Karl Lagefeld What’s style to me? Style to me is something one put together to express one’s personality and character. It is like a form of art, adorned on your body, just like tattoos. A person may look pretty but the lack of personality always shows, from bad styling. What are the 5 necessities, all women should have in their wardrobe? 1. A well tailored jacket 2. A pair of snug fit heels 3. A very comfortable basic tee in white or grey 4. A classic bag, designed to fit from dress to casual occasions 5. A great pair of jeans 6. A timeless watch 7. A simple maxi dress 8. A good clutch
